Young Musician of the Year Prelim Success
First year A Level Music student Sally Proudman has scored great success at this year’s Young Musician of the Year 2018 preliminaries. Sally impressed the judges with a sensitive and accomplished performance of Rachmaninoff’s C Sharp Minor Piano Prelude.
Stoke’s Young Musican of the Year Competition is run annually and is organised by the City Music Service. Schools and College’s from across the city enter their most talented musicians into the competition. From singers to trombonists the competition encourages and rewards performance ability.
After winning the preliminary piano class Sally will now progress onto the competition’s final, taking place on the 27th of April. In the final Sally will compete against the winners of other preliminaries, with each hoping to be named Stoke’s Young Musician of the Year.
We are proud of Sally’s accomplishment, a sign of her outstanding musical ability, and wish her luck in the competition’s final round.
