Dream Team to Deliver Football & Education Programme
The Sixth Form College are pleased to announce their partnership with the Port Vale Foundation Trust where both parties are joining forces to work together on the Football & Education Programme.
One of the values that the Sixth Form College upholds is to work in partnership with external employers so that together they can add value to the provision in the area. A collaboration which will certainly achieve this mission.
Football & Education is a full time, post 16 study programme. Students will be studying to gain a level 3 BTEC with the Sixth Form College, alongside this they will represent Port Vale in the EFL Trust Alliance League as well as a variety of other football tournaments.
The initiative will provide promising football players with competitive football experience whilst combining a top quality education that can further springboard students on to university or their chosen career path.
The Sixth Form College is currently celebrating its 50th year of delivering superb further education with students consistently achieving outstanding results. Phil McPherson, Director of Teaching and Learning at the Sixth Form College said “The college has a long standing reputation for academic success on all sports courses with many students progressing to top performing universities”.
Together both parties will further raise the education offering and provide students with football playing opportunities, enabling them to achieve their career ambitions. Head of Community at Port Vale, Tom Sheratt said “This partnership with The City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College will help to further elevate our current Football & Education offer”.
