13 of our Classical Civilisation students recently attended a bespoke taster event at Manchester University. The event was organised to show the wide range of opportunities that come with studying Classical Civilisation.

The day consisted of various activities. Sixth Form students spoke to Classics and Ancient History Undergraduates about their courses as well as hearing advice from their own experiences. The visit also included an Ancient Greek taster session delivered by a Postgraduate student and our students impressed everyone with how quickly they picked up the incredibly complex subject. The taster session was then followed by an engaging lecture about warfare in the Ancient Mediterranean world.

The afternoon was rounded off with a visit to the Manchester Museum which boasts a fine collection of antiquities, an impressive collection of stuffed animals from all corners of the world and a reptile and fish enclosure.
