Recently, our Business & Finance pathway students embarked on a memorable and enriching two-day educational trip to London. The experience began at the historic Bank of England Museum, where students not only learned about the rich legacy of one of the world’s most influential financial institutions but also tested their problem-solving skills by attempting to crack the safe’s code and even lifted an actual gold bullion—a unique hands-on encounter with finance history.
The day continued with an engaging walking tour of the financial district, complete with stops at iconic landmarks such as the Tower of London, immersing students in the city’s storied economic and cultural heritage. As the evening set in, the group explored the festive West End, taking in the stunning Christmas lights and lively atmosphere that attracted crowds from near and far.
The second day brought even more highlights as the students witnessed the grandeur of the Lord Mayor’s Parade, followed by a visit to the magnificent St. Paul’s Cathedral, an architectural gem that added a sense of awe to their experience.
A special moment came when alumni student Alex Wong welcomed some of the group for an exclusive tour of The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Alex shared invaluable insights about university life in London and detailed the range of bursaries available, making the prospect of studying in the capital more attainable for many.
The day continued with a visit to the renowned Branding and Marketing Museum in Notting Hill, where students attended a captivating talk on the evolution of global brands and explored an extensive collection showcasing the power of branding. The trip concluded with a leisurely walk through the vibrant, multicultural Portobello Market, offering a perfect fusion of culture, commerce, and local charm that rounded off the weekend beautifully.
