Employers
At the City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College we are keen to give our students the widest possible experience of the working world.
We are committed to broadening the horizons of our young people and challenging stereotypes around the world of work.
Our Aim
Our aim is to ensure that our students have quality encounters with employers in order to help them to identify and confirm their aspirations and career aims, giving them the best possible start. We aim to bring together employer partners with our talented students in the hope that they will provide insights, support and opportunities to our students, their future talent pipeline.
There are multiple opportunities to get involved and help inspire the next generation. Depending on your availability, you could give a short talk, assist with mock interviews, offer a short work experience placement or a longer T level work placement. Your knowledge and experience could help a young person to find their calling.

We had the opportunity of hosting a few T Level students within the Cyber Security Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM). This has been fantastic for UHNM, as the students have applied learning gained in the course at Stoke 6th Form to support the team in their day to day tasks. The students have benefited from their time at UHNM as they have acquired a number of skills, and obtained real world experience of Cyber Security in a Healthcare environment.
Our T Level student works with us one day a week and sometimes in blocks of days. This allows him to become familiar with several aspects of the different testing we carry out, gaining experience in laboratory practices, quality systems and laboratory safety. The frequency of attendance (compared to say a week’s work experience) means that he has become a productive member of the team, able to carry out tasks and tests with limited supervision. For us, this means we gain skilled support at the same time as the student gains valuable experience to support their education.
It was great to host a T Level student within our business and see how they adapted to our work environment and our team. We were impressed at the level of skills and ability of the student and hope to work with Stoke on Trent 6th Form again in the future.
VCCP Stoke Academy’s key aims are raising awareness of advertising as a career option in the Stoke and wider Staffordshire area, as well as creating job and training opportunities. We’ve done this through the Inter-City Student Challenge, where we have partnered with sixth form colleges in the areas, as well as through the launch of an internship scheme and a range of apprenticeship opportunities. This work in Staffordshire is key for us as a business because it ensures that the talent that we have is as diverse as possible, which enables us to be able to create the best work for the brands and clients that we work with.
