Exceptional 2024 Results: Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College Excels in A Levels, Vocational, and T Levels 

Impressive student performance across all subjects. Yet again, we are proud to announce an excellent set of results across our A Level, technical and vocational provision: 

RESULTS SUMMARY

Academic – A Level 

  • The pass rate across all college A Level courses has risen to 99% with almost 50% of students achieving A*, A or B grades.    
  • 20% of all grades awarded were grade A* or A. 
  •  Three quarters of A level results were A*- C (12% higher than 2019).  
  • Strong performance in a wide range of subjects. Stand out subjects include Computer Science, Sciences, Mathematics, Social Sciences (Psychology and Sociology), Politics, Business Studies, Geography, History and Arabic. 
  • Celebrating record results of high achieving students studying extra-curricular activities such as MDV, MEC and additional A Levels. 

Vocational – BTEC/CTEC 

  • 100% pass rate across all vocational subjects. 70% of students studying a vocational course achieving high grades. 
  • Continued strong performance in a wide range of vocational subjects including Sport and Exercise Science, Health and Social Care, Business Studies, Law, Performing Arts and TV/Film.  

Technical – T Level 

  • 100% pass rate across all T Level courses with 92% of students achieving the equivalent of higher grades A* to B. 
  • On the finance T Level courses all students achieved a Distinction or Distinction* grade.  
  • On health, Education and Digital courses all students achieved the equivalent of a high grade. 
  • Technical education continues to thrive at the Sixth Form College contributing to the skills development of the region. As part of their Industry Placement, all students have successfully completed over 315 hours at a range of local, regional and national employer partners including the University Hospital North Midlands Trust, Staffordshire Highways Laboratory, Cyberkiln and the Home Office.

Congratulations to all our students who have demonstrated incredible resilience and dedication in achieving their impressive results. As they stand tall today, holding their A-Level, vocational, and technical qualifications, we are reminded of the immense effort, late nights, and unwavering commitment that has brought them to this moment. I am deeply proud of each one of them for reaching this significant milestone. Today, we celebrate not only their individual achievements but the collective spirit and unity of our Sixth Form College community.

Our students’ progression to employment, higher-level and degree apprenticeships, Oxbridge, Medical schools, and other prestigious universities in the UK remains exceptional.

While many of our students will be thrilled with their results and progression choices, we remain committed to supporting all of our students, offering them access to our expert careers team. On results day, local universities will be on-site to provide advice and guidance to help them navigate their next steps.

Lastly, I would like to express my deep appreciation to all the staff at the college. Your dedication and hard work have played an essential role in preparing and supporting our students to achieve their full potential. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to our ever-supportive parents. Your unwavering belief and commitment have been crucial to this success, and for that, I am profoundly thankful.
