What is the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP)
The National Bus Strategy ‘Bus Back Better’ provides a once in a generation opportunity to bring about real and meaningful change to the bus network, to stimulate increased ridership, and to promote mode shift away from the car to help meet national and local net zero emission targets. The Stoke-on-Trent BSIP is important to develop an aspirational but achievable strategy for bus improvements. The BSIP will form a framework for future delivery of bus network improvements and will provide a basis for the Council’s future bids for funding. In developing the BSIP it is vital that the views of passengers and third parties on the strengths and weaknesses of bus services locally are sought and reported to help shape the final BSIP.
