Festival In A Factory 2018
We welcomed two high-profile guests to the College this week, TV presenter, chef and author, Prue Leith and documentary-maker and historian Dan Jones.
Speaking about their respective careers, as well as their personal experiences, Prue and Dan took part in Q&A sessions with our students as well as young people from across the city, as part of Emma Bridgewater’s Festival in a Factory.
Prue Leith discussed her career, her experiences as a novelist, and, of course, The Great British Bake Off. Prue gave profound advice, encouraging students to pursue their interests as well as the subjects that they enjoy. Prue recommended ‘keeping options open’ by exploring all the opportunities that come along.
Dan Jones answered a range of questions from an enthusiastic audience, which included discussing History’s influence on his personal and professional life, his passion for Medieval History, his thoughts on Poldark and Horrible Histories as well as the wide range of opportunities that
A Level History can lead to.
