Science Olympics
High-school students, from across the city, gathered to explore, through competition an array of sciences at the Sixth Form College’s annual Science Olympics.
The Olympics featured teams from five schools competing in interactive science related challenges, these included topics such as biological building, the creation of gold and the uses of natural gas. Made up of high achieving science students, the teams spent a whole day at the College developing their science ability and interest in the subject.
Competing to win a coveted trophy and the title of Science Olympian were teams from: Excel Academy, Trentham Academy, Thistley Hough Academy, Clayton Academy, St Peter’s Academy and Ormiston Meridian Academy.
The team from Thistley Hough Academy, after a day of strong competition, were announced as the winner of this year’s Science Olympics. As winner, the team will be presented with a trophy at the Thistley Hough Academy.
