On an evening that The Apprentice screened an art task, our own young business brains were busy with their own art auction in the Main Atrium after college. The event, titled Artistic Youth, took place over the evening with Level 2 Business students selling Art students’ pieces.
Members of the public, staff and the local community attended the event – and were urged to part with their cash during the auction.

After months of hard graft, tireless campaigning and after college hours, the Rise To: Challenge students headed down to the awards ceremony in London to collect prizes and acclaim for finishing in second place at the national competition.
“To get into the final three and represent the City was a really proud moment”, said former St Thomas More student Joshua Bird, who was part of the team, “It’s great to get recognition for hard work.”
BTEC Performing Arts (Street Dance) students recently took part in a performance of their Olympic themed dance, choreographed by our BTEC Street Dance teacher Lucie Talbot at Victoria Hall in Hanley.

Three budding scientists of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College this week competed in the first round of the International Chemistry Olympiad, organised through the Royal Chemistry Society. Megan Davies, Shannon Taggart and Leo Vong volunteered their time to sit a gruelling 2 hour exam which covered a multitude of topics not encountered in A-level chemistry but using their understanding and skills developed during their studies answered very challenging problem-solving questions.
